IN Radio
ON-AIR
Rachel Mains
Hi, I'm Rachel Mains, a radio/TV host and media and communications consultant. I've had an on-air radio show for 16 years and counting! My show is unique to the market and respected amongst its peers. I am also an Operations Manager for a radio station. Radio is my passion. I'm excited to teach you how to have your own successful, long-running, radio show.
What is influencers TV?
Influencers TV is a course platform. How to Have Your Own Unique Radio Show That Will Stand the Test of Time is our first course. Stay tuned for more courses with Influencers launching their courses to help you spread your influence.
I've always felt called to communications and media.
After college, I started at a small TV station. From there, I went on to TV News. Four years later, I started my career in radio. I was blessed to have the opportunity to start my own radio show while working at the radio station. I fell in love with radio! It is an honor to be able to communicate my unique message, let my guests shine as they share their unique message and create positive entertainment for listeners to enjoy.
Let’s face it, radio is fun. And, having your own radio show is a blast. However, only a few people actually make it to have their own show. Only 10% of the total number of people in the broadcasting industry are actually on-air.
Only a few people make it to get their own radio show. Those who have always dreamed of having their own radio show, start to feel discouraged and get dissuaded due to the tough competition.
Broadcasting school can be an option, but it cost thousands of dollars - not to mention the time commitment. Plus, it's not guaranteed you'll get a job on-air once you graduate.
You ask yourself, “How did the lucky few make it?” As if they got something you don’t have. They lucked out somehow. You wonder how... Deep down you feel like you’re missing something.
You have the talent to be on radio, but lack the know-how and insight into how to take advantage of the current opportunities available.
They always say, “It’s all about who you know”… that is mostly true, especially if that someone can give you the knowledge you need to succeed and show you where the doors are open that lead to the opportunities you seek.
It can feel frustrating not knowing who to turn to or who to trust. You just wish someone would give you a chance - a chance to prove you got what it takes. You’ve got what it takes to be on radio!
“Where is my lucky break?” you ask...
I learned, from experience, that having a radio show is within reach - it just takes some knowledge on how the industry works.
Would it surprise you if I said, “Your radio show is waiting for you”? As if to say, all you have to do is… well… do it! Sure, it’ll take some hard work. Anything worthwhile requires effort. However, it’s not as hard as you think to actually be on-air.
It’s as simple as learning the ins and outs and requiring the skills to make it happen.
With some fortitude and learning industry knowledge, you can have your own radio show in no time. Your dream of being a radio host is within your reach. What great news!
If you would have told me years ago that I would be on-air, I would have been curious and perhaps a little skeptical.
I would asked questions like:
How could that happen?
How do you even do a radio program to begin with?
Do you really feel that I am good enough?
Radio seems so competitive. How can I stand out?
Little did I know, radio is more accessible than I thought - it just takes some industry grooming and self-motivation to put simple, practical tips and tools to work.
Three of my radio personalities went on to start their own radio programs!
I’ve always enjoyed training others to learn new things. And, I love connecting people to new opportunities. My radio show has personalities in the brand. We’ve been so blessed with great people to become our personalities. It’s been a thrill to watch them grow into their own unique radio shows.
I also trained people to manage my show when I took a year break to live and work in Argentina in an orphanage. It was a good feeling to know my show was in good hands.
So, if you haven’t gathered already, I enjoy teaching radio and creating opportunities for others to thrive. And, I’d be honored to teach you to succeed with your own unique radio show!

Radio Host - Entrepreneur "The Calling"
Rachel Mains has been an absolute game-changer for both myself and The Calling. Thanks to her guidance, we were able to build an incredible radio program, To All the Dreamers, which airs Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Working with her at Crawford as part of her team as a radio personality was an unforgettable experience. I witnessed firsthand her pure excellence and heaven-inspired creativity, paired with a diligent and systematic approach to radio.
The tools she shared have been absolutely priceless - not only transforming my life but also taking The Calling’s ministry to new heights. Because of her wisdom, The Calling has opened doors to world-renowned guests like Mac Powell of Third Day, Sam Acho of ESPN and former NFL player, leaders in the poorest of countries like Haiti and Uganda, and even the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem. This platform has given us the ability to highlight incredible individuals from all walks of life, inviting them to inspire and encourage others.
